About us

The Casa dos Curumins
builds dreams and hopes for children and adolescents who live in Santa Terezinha, an area on the outskirts of San Paolo, Brazil.
The association was founded in Switzerland, in October 2005, after three years of working with some of the extraordinary people at Santa Terezinha who have performed social work there for many years.
The association’s objective is to offer solid opportunities and alternatives to those who have lost their hopes and dreams – by providing educational opportunities, food baskets with basic necessities, career training, medical care for the youth and their families and inculcating a strong sense of values.

In Brazil, the association relies on  fantastic teachers, Fatima  and Marina. These two women have worked for more than twenty years in the community to help street children and community members in challenging conditions.

In Switzerland, the founders and direct supervisors of the Association Casa dos Curumins project are Alberto Eisenhardt and his wife, Adriana Gomes Fernandes Eisenhardt.

Alberto works as an independent film maker and editor. In 2002 he made a documentary film for TSI (the Swiss-Italian TV network) on the Santa Terezhina favela, which led to the creation of the association.

Adriana was born and raised in Brazil, where she earned her law degree at San Paolo, before marrying Alberto and moving to Switzerland, where she now works as a lawyer.

And naturally, we include all of the childrens’ "godfathers" and "godmothers," and the project supporters like Leandro HBL (creator of the Association’s logo), Lino and Susanna, Claudia, Anna, Augusto…and all of the people who in many ways have made these projects possible.
